The Effect of Earthquake Disaster Simulation Video on Disaster Preparedness Practices Among Elementary School Students

Objective: This study aims determine the effect of providing animated videos and disaster simulations on preparedness in elementary school students
Method: This study was quasi experimental design approach with one group pre-post test. A total of the respondents were 60 students. Data collection using earthquake disaster preparedness knowledge questionnaire and data analysis used Wilcoxon test
Results: The results of this study showed that the average age of students was 10 years old with the majority was females (66.7 %). There was the means score of preparedness before being given the earthquake disaster simulation video was 5.30 and after intervention was 15.43. The results of the statistical test showed the p-value was 0.000 (<0.05).
Conclusion: There is an effect of providing animated videos and earthquake disaster simulations on the preparedness of elementary school children.
